Planned development
A planned development or planned unit development is similar to a subdivision in that it divides a parent parcel into smaller lots.
A planned development gives the applicant more flexibility to propose standards that are outside the current standards but still meet the intent of the jurisdictional development code.
This process is often used when there is a significant natural resource that needs to be protected.
