The firm was established in 1924 as a Land Surveying specialty firm with a philosophy of providing a professional product for a reasonable fee.

The early years of the firm saw it become the major producer of A.L.T.A. and mortgage inspections for the financial institutions and land title insurance companies in the Portland Metropolitan area. The firm has over 350,000 of these inspections currently in its files and continues to be the dominant firm in this market in the Portland Metropolitan area.

To better serve our clients, during the 1970's our firm began a diversification program. The first step in our diversification was to expand our service offerings in Land Surveying. We moved into the areas of Boundary, Topographic, land development and construction surveying. Our expansion into these areas was very successful and with that success came pressure from our clients to begin to offer engineering services. The beginning of the next decade saw the addition of a Civil Engineering Department staffed by Professional Engineers, experienced designers and drafting personnel

The addition of these services has permitted W.B. WELLS AND ASSOCIATES, INC. to offer a wide range of services ranging from land and construction surveying to civil design and construction management for all phases of residential, commercial, and industrial land development projects.
